Newness

I arrived in San Antonio last Thursday night...we left Newberg Tuesday evening and drove pretty much straight through until we arrived. The journey was much better than I expected but we did encounter some crazy weather! We spent most of the first full day in Utah and God provided an amazing lightning storm complete with hail, and a down pour...once we got to Colorado, we were immediately trapped in a legitimate snow storm and had to try to get ahead of it as we needed to make it to New Mexico and didn't want to get delayed by snow! By the end of the day, we had made it to Albuquerque, NM and decided to get a hotel and get some much needed sleep. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in South Albuquerque and it was wonderful! I wish my swim suit hadn't been packed away because I could have used the hot tub! : (  The next day we drove for about 12 hours and most of that time was spent in Texas...it was beautiful (for the most part)! My good friends the Godins were at the church for worship practice and so that was my first stop! I rolled in looking very "traveled" and got to meet some new people right off the bat!

It's been pretty busy since arriving. Serena had a slumber party for her birthday Friday night so Alisha and I chaperoned that while Paul took Joe to a Texas Longhorn vs. A&M baseball game (SO JEALOUS!) They went with a dad and son from the church, the dad just so happens to still hold 3 records for the Longhorns baseball team! Pretty cool experience for Joe...VIP passes and seats right above the dug out. He also got to explore SA and see the state capitol. It was good guy time for him, I'm happy for that!

This afternoon has been the first time to relax! Church was wonderful this morning and I felt very at home! We have a night of worship and prayer this evening. And then, I start work this week! Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I continue to meet new people and start learning about my job! I'm very excited but the realness of my move is getting stronger every day. It will be an adjustment but I know that this is God's plan for me right now. He will give me strength and courage to press on!

Love to you all!
